Chronic Care Foundation organised second Health awareness campaign on chronic diseases on 21st February 2008 at Basti Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi, exclusively for a women audience group. CCF guest medical doctor, Dr. Sanjana Sikri used Power point presentation to explain the chronic diseases, their current situation, causes, symptoms, prevention and management.  She started with diabetes and then discussed Heart Disease, Kidney Diseases, Stroke, Hypertension and Blood Pressure and their early detection, prevention, management and care.

Dr. Sikri also made use of few energizers on physical household activities. It was followed by question and answer session where individuals were encouraged to discuss their doubts and problems. This approach was well received by the participants and they expressed their interest for more such programmes. An educational leaflet on healthy eating and healthy living was also distributed.

The programme gave an opportunity for women in the Basti to come together, share their feelings and concerns with a lady doctor and also get free medical consultation. It was well in line with the strategy of the foundation to advocate healthy attitude, nutritive eating and an active lifestyle as the pre-requisite to a happy and healthy future.
