Research and Ethical Committee
The Research & Ethics Advisory Committee was appointed by invitation by the Chief Executive Officer of Chronic Care Foundation in December 2008.

Purpose:
The Research & Ethics Advisory Committee is primarily responsible for guidance on the overall Strategic Research undertaken by  the Foundation, based on the organizations aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the vision and mission of the Foundation.

The Committee is responsible for the research initiatives undertaken by CCF organisation and will ensure legal and ethical compliance in furthering the organization’s mission at all times.
The Research and Ethics Advisory Committee will:
a.
review and approve all types of research proposals involving human participants with a view to safeguard the dignity, rights, safety and well being of all actual and potential research participants and that the goals of research, however important, do not override the health and well being of the research subjects.
b.
examine compliance with all regulatory requirements, applicable guidelines and laws.
c.
take care of all the cardinal principles of research ethics, viz. Justice, Beneficence, Autonomy and Non-maleficence in planning, conduct and reporting of any proposed research
d.
review the proposals before start of the study as well as monitor the research throughout the study until and after completion of the study through appropriate well documented procedures for example annual reports, final reports and site visits etc.
e.
give advice/report on specific ethical issues to the Foundation and
f.
guide and participate in the activities of the foundation as and when necessary.
